About Croatia

Described as “the Mediterranean as it once was” and by George Bernard Shaw as “paradise on Earth”, Croatia is a land of diversities. From snow-capped peaks poking through the clouds to rolling green fields and turquoise blue seas, it is a land blessed with a rich natural heritage.

Situated in south-eastern Europe Croatia is a boomerang shaped country with a population of only 4.5 million. The capital, Zagreb, lies in the north of the country and other cities of importance include Split, Rijeka, Zadar and of course Dubrovnik. In July 2013 Croatia will become a full member of the European Union which will consequently open many more doors for guests to the country. From fertile fields in the Slavonia region to spectacular coastlines and thousands of islands in Dalmatia and Istria, Croatia has it all. And this very coastline offers scuba divers a wealth of possibilities.

A land of opportunities…especially for scuba divers
