Mrkanjac (reef)
Just off the coastline of Cavtat, south of Dubrovnik, lies the diving site Mrkanjac. Three islands make up this small group, Bobara, Mrkan and Mrkanjac, which is by far the smallest. The dive experience with Blue Planet starts in the shallows 15 metres deep and drops, along the underwater wall, to 50 metres. According to a legend, the ancient wall used to link the three islands and today remnants of that very wall can clearly be seen in this underwater paradise. This is a diving site with relatively strong currents and, accordingly, there is an extremely rich marine life. You’ll even come across electric rays in this dive. Scuba divers from all over the world have enjoyed the Mrkanjac diving site and it has one of the most diverse and picturesque sea beds in the region. The legendary underwater wall is now home to eels, dentex, sea fans, bream, lobsters, monkfish, anemones and sponges. It is a truly unforgettable dive.
