The unique and original site of our diving center is certainly Maro’s Cave, which owes its name to our research-oriented divemaster Maro Mitrović. Maro is a favorite divemaster who has been exploring the sea in front of the Blue Planet diving center for many years. His discovery is located between the islet of Greben and the coast where our diving center is located. If you want to find out what impressed our divemaster so much, then we will start the adventure southwest of our diving center at a depth of 15 meters. Descending to a depth of 35 meters, you will discover an entrance to the cave through which one person can slip at a time. The first part of the cave is very dark, so you need a lamp, but when you turn to the left, you will see a beautiful large opening - the exit from the cave at a depth of 40 meters.
In the cave, you can see a large number of red corals and protected endemic species: triton snail, barrel snail, snails with long spines, Green wrasse, starfish... It is home to the usual species of the southern Adriatic - lobster, moray eel, octopus, and at the exit from the cave, divers sometimes have the rare honor of meeting a loggerhead turtle, a sunfish, and large specimens of cuttlefish, which come out of the dark depths to see who is disturbing their peace.
At a depth of 47 meters, in front of the exit, you can see a large anchor from the 18th century embedded in the rock. You can also see the remains of ancient amphorae, considering that this site is on the way to a protected bay where ancient ships most likely anchored to protect themselves from the strong southerly winds.
